Service Description
Hatha yoga is a foundational system of yoga that emphasizes physical postures (asanas) and breathing techniques (pranayama) to balance the body and mind. While it serves as an umbrella term for nearly all physical yoga styles, it is most commonly associated with a slower, more deliberate practice focused on proper alignment and long-held poses. Core Definitions: *Literal Meaning: The Sanskrit word hatha translates to "force" or "effort," referring to the physical discipline required to harness internal energies. *Esoteric Meaning: It is frequently interpreted as a union of opposites: "ha" (sun/active/solar energy) and "tha" (moon/calming/lunar energy). The practice aims to harmonize these dual forces within the human system. *Specific Class Style: A Hatha class typically indicates a slower-paced session where poses are explored individually with more static holds than a "flow" class. This is my definition of the 'Work Class' that we have come to know over the years, a class that pulls it all together - cardiovascular, strenth, breath, precise alignment with a compact core.
