MAT PILATES

Mat Pilates borrows from disciplines such as dance, yoga and classic calisthenics. The standard Pilates system of exercise uses many different pieces of equipment, such as the reformer, cadillac and barrel. But, the mat Pilates series of exercise is performed equipment-free, with the moves adapted to work with just your body and a floor mat for cushioning and support.

TAI CHI

Qigong/Tai Chi is a mind/body/spirit integrative excercise that cultivates energy, harmonizes emotions, and releases toxins from the body. These mindfulness meditative movements can be done standing or sitting, utilizing the breath as a vehicle for enhancing health. We will explore healing Qigong forms with connection to the Five Elements Energetic Theory. Along with a five movement Tai Chi Easy form we will further evolve into another Yang style form. A Harvard study has shown evidence that mindfulness meditation increases gray matter in brain areas associated with learning, memory and compassion, and a decrease in the part of the brain linked to stress and anxiety. Come participate and learn of all the health benefits of this Qigong/Tai Chi Practice!
